Police investigate after man found dead in New Albany home | Crime reports

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WDRB) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a southern Indiana home.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said officers were called to the 800 block of East 11th Street around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday to check on the welfare of a man. That’s near Culbertson Avenue and Beeler Street, not far from Fairview Cemetery.

Bailey said the call was “resulting from information received in connection with another police emergency call at another location.”

When the police arrived at the scene, they found a 68-year-old man dead.

Bailey said the cause of death has not yet been determined. It is currently unclear if police suspect foul play in the man’s death.

The New Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Indiana State Police are conducting a joint investigation, Bailey said.
