Police are investigating the deaths of two kittens on the side of the road in Naugatuck after receiving reports that the kittens were thrown from a moving car.

According to Naugatuck police, witnesses saw a woman throw two kittens from the driver’s side of a maroon sedan in the area of North Church Street and Route 63 around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a statement posted on Facebook on Tuesday evening, officials subsequently found the bodies of the dead kittens on the side of the road. The cats were estimated to be four to five months old.
