Second suspect arrested in Opelousas shooting on Prudhomme Street | Crime

OPELOUSAS, Louisiana (KADN) – Opelousas police said a second suspect has been arrested in connection with a June shooting that left the victim hospitalized with serious injuries.

Todd Stelly, 36, of Opelousas, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or concealed carrying of a weapon by a person convicted of certain crimes, police said.

Authorities said Gregory Maynard was apprehended by the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office and taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail.


2 separate shootings in Opelousas leave 2 injured, one seriously

OPELOUSAS, Louisiana – Opelousas Police are currently investigating two separate shootings that occurred on Sunday, June 23.

Investigators said the shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, on Prudhomme Street near Juanita Street in Opelousas.

Gregory Maynard was previously arrested and also charged with attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
