North Charleston police arrest four women accused of shoplifting ring at mall

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – North Charleston Police say four women are in custody for shoplifting following a two-day undercover operation.

Investigators were able to prove 27 different thefts with a total value of $17,989, said police spokesman Harve Jacobs. Police identified the four suspects and the charges they face:

  • Alicia Cooper, 34, charged with shoplifting (second offense)
  • Shaquana Anderson, 31, charged with aiding and abetting property crime
  • Akeima Stanley, 31, charged with aiding and abetting property crime
  • Peaches Sawyer, 33, charged with two counts of increased property fine

Police conducted the investigation on July 2 and 3 at the Northwoods Mall, Jacobs said.

The investigation is still ongoing and police believe that further arrests are possible.
