Newark police are asking for help identifying the woman they want to question in a shooting

Authorities in Newark are asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman wanted for questioning in a May 1 shooting.AdvertisementNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the victim was walking on Elizabeth Avenue between Lehigh Avenue and Stengel Street around 12:30 p.m. when he heard gunshots.

When the victim realized he had been shot in the leg, he called for an Uber car to take him to Beth Israel Medical Center, officials said.

According to officials, the woman is described as a black female and the person was captured on surveillance video with the victim before going to the hospital.

According to authorities, she was wearing dark pants, a yellow shirt and a dark jacket.

Officials said they both got into an Uber that took the victim to the hospital.AdvertisementThe woman accompanied him to the emergency room and left, officials say.
