Police say Georgia women went on a theft spree at Saks Fifth Avenue in Brickell

MIAMI — Four Georgia women are each charged with two counts of felony assault after they collectively stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from retailers at Miami’s Brickell City Centre, according to police reports obtained Wednesday by Local 10 News.

On Sunday, Miami police arrested 19-year-old Brittany Collins and 24-year-old Raven Williams, both of Duluth, Georgia, as well as two other women from the Atlanta metropolitan area: Kayla Mize, 18, of Buford, Georgia, and Kataya Williams, 19, of Atlanta.

According to police, the quartet entered Saks Fifth Avenue in the open-air mall at 81 SW Eighth St. and stole $8,000 worth of merchandise: three Balenciaga handbags, two Marc Jacobs handbags, a black Burberry handbag, a red Balmain bikini swimsuit and a floral bikini swimsuit.

The arrest reports state that surveillance video shows the group entering and exiting the store’s dressing rooms, “packing the merchandise into their personal handbags and wrapping the anti-theft sensors on each item with aluminum foil.”

Saks Fifth Avenue anti-theft officers arrested the women and called police, reports said.

Police said the women also stole merchandise from the Lululemon and Victoria’s Secret stores in Brickell City Centre. Representatives of those stores, however, declined to press charges after recovering the merchandise.

Police arrested both women for coordinated shoplifting and use of anti-shoplifting devices.

According to prison records, all were still in Miami-Dade prison as of Wednesday.
