Warm 4th of July, brutal humidity this weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Our forecast remains pleasantly summery for today before the heat and humidity return on the 4th and become excessive again by the weekend.

Today is a perfect day for July. Humidity remains relatively low and temperatures rise by a few degrees compared to Tuesday.

Highs will reach around 27 degrees on the beach and around 30 degrees inland, with a mix of sun and clouds. If you have any work to do outside, take advantage of today’s weather forecast.

4TH OF JULY

Our forecast looks normal and in line with what you would expect for the Fourth of July. Afternoon temperatures will rise to 28 to 30 degrees at the beach and 35 to 40 degrees inland. As humidity increases, the heat index will rise to nearly 38 degrees in the afternoon.

The heat returns at the weekend

After July 4, there will be a brief respite in the heat and humidity. Temperatures Friday through Sunday will rise to over 30 degrees, to nearly 35 degrees on the beaches. Inland, highs will reach 35 to 35 degrees. Taking humidity into account, we can expect widespread heat indices of over 40 degrees and possibly over 43 degrees, especially on Saturday.
