Gun license holder attacked on Chicago beach

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 17-year-old girl was arrested following a violent attack on 31st Street Beach in Chicago, police said.

Chicago police accused the 17-year-old of stabbing a 26-year-old woman during an argument on Saturday night.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. on South Fort Dearborn Drive. According to police, the teenager took a sharp object and stabbed the woman in the right arm.

The 26-year-old woman, who had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon and a firearms license, then shot the teenager in the left shoulder.

Both were taken to hospitals in good condition.

Saturday’s attack was the latest in a series of shootings that prompted city councilors to crack down on violence near 31st Street Beach.
