Two obnoxious teenagers were caught on video taking advantage of a drunken woman at a house party and “taking turns” sexually abusing her.

George Johnson and Vincenzo Montessori, both 17 years old at the time of the gruesome crime, sexually abused the 20-year-old victim during a house party on December 27, 2020. The victim had no memory of the evening, but a friend later told her that she had been sexually abused and subsequently reported it to the police.

Video footage taken on the mobile phone of one of the partygoers shows two people sexually assaulting the woman. Johnson, of Dunkirk Lane, Whitby, Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, and Montessori, of Polden Close, Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, were identified from the footage, reports Liverpool Echo.

Johnson and Montessori, both now aged 20, are seen taking turns sexually abusing the victim. The footage shows the victim in an intoxicated state and in court it was said that she was unable to consent or prevent what was happening to her. During the footage, Johnson attempted to rape her.

They were both arrested and later charged in connection with the incident. Johnson was found guilty of attempted rape and sexual assault after a week-long trial at Chester Crown Court and sentenced to 10 years in a young offenders’ institution.

Montessori was sentenced to five years in a young offenders’ institution after pleading guilty to sexual assault before trial. In addition to their sentences, both will be subject to restraining orders and will be required to sign the sex offenders’ register.

After the verdict, DC Joe Duckworth of Cheshire Constabulary said: “Firstly, I would like to pay tribute to the bravery shown by the victim throughout the investigation and subsequent trial. Although the video evidence appeared to speak for itself, Johnson nevertheless subjected her to an extremely traumatic process in which she was forced to relive the effects of this crime.

“I would also like to thank the jury for their fair, rational and objective approach to the Johnson trial. They too had to observe the evidence presented during the trial and I am sure this will stay with them for a long time.

“Although Johnson and Montessori were only 17 years old at the time of the crime, they knew what they were doing. This is evident from their reactions seen on video as they committed their crimes. They chose to take advantage of a woman even though she could not consent, and now they must live with the consequences of their actions.

“This crime has resulted in two young people being convicted and a woman having to live the rest of her life with the knowledge of what happened to her. This is an incredibly tough case and I sincerely hope that it reminds us of the importance of having meaningful conversations about consent and the impact that intoxication can have on people’s ability to consent. We would also like to remind people that the victim in this case is entitled to anonymity.”
