Natchez man dies in boating accident

NATCHEZ, Mississippi (WJTV) – A Natchez man died after a boating accident in Louisiana.

The Natchez Democrat reported that the incident occurred on Saturday, June 22, at Lake St. John.

According to authorities, the 69-year-old and his wife were on their way for a late-night boat ride. The accident occurred when they returned to the pier.

Authorities said the woman suffered some injuries when she fell from the boat. Her husband jumped into the boat to help her and drowned.

The incident is being investigated by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.
