Impairment after accident on Saturday evening is being investigated

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating a car crash Saturday night near East 23rd Street and Stark Avenue.

The officers arrived at the scene at around 11:21 p.m.

According to police, a black Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on 23rd Street at a “high rate of speed” when the driver lost control.

The vehicle then left the road, hit a sign that was severed at the bottom, and began to roll over.

As the Dodge entered the eastbound lanes of 23rd Street, it struck a stone wall and came to rest on its wheels.

According to KCPD, an unbelted 2-year-old and a 13-year-old were thrown from the vehicle.

Two other unbelted people, a 10-year-old and a female passenger, were still in the back seat of the vehicle.

Officers arrested the driver to investigate for reckless driving.
