Belleville man arrested for attempted burglary in Bloomfield

According to Bloomfield police, a Belleville man was arrested on June 11 for attempted burglary on Watsessing Avenue.Ismael Gomez, 25, was arrested after officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary in the 100 block of Watsessing Avenue.

A local resident provided surveillance video showing a male suspect attempting to enter his home through the front door.

When that failed, the suspect attempted to enter through a side window, but fled when a neighbor began screaming.

Officers found Gomez nearby and arrested him.

He was taken to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing, Bloomfield police said.
