580,000 glass coffee cups recalled – WFTV

If you use glass coffee mugs for your morning coffee, you should find out what brand they are. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of more than 580,000 mugs.

According to the CPSC, JoyJolt Drinkware Declan single-wall glass coffee mugs may crack or shatter when filled with hot liquid, potentially causing burns or cuts to the user.

The mugs have the model number JG10242 and were sold in a pack of six 16 oz mugs. The model number can be found on the product packaging and order confirmation.

In more than 100 cases, the cups broke, injuring 56 people. Most suffered burns from the hot liquid, but nearly two dozen people suffered cuts. Some injuries required medical treatment, including surgery and stitches, the CPSC said.

The mugs were sold by Amazon and on the MM Products website from September 2019 to May 2022, priced between $20 and $25 per set.

Owners of the cups are told to stop using them and contact MM Products for a refund.

You can reach the company by phone at 888-569-5680 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, by email or online.
