TNSTC bus staff suspended for mistreating elderly passenger

A driver and a conductor of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus, who pushed an elderly passenger while boarding at the new bus stand in Tiruppur last week, sparking an outcry after the video went viral on social media, have been suspended.

The passenger fell to the ground and remained motionless for a while after being pushed by conductor Thangarasu, who was standing next to driver Murugan. The video showing the bus staff manhandling the scantily clad passenger was recorded by a fellow passenger and uploaded on social media.

The suspension notice was issued by the Gobichettipalayam branch of TNSTC Erode Division. The duo stated that they had to forcibly deboard the passenger as he was drunk.
