Rajkot: A 48-year-old woman accuses her husband’s friend of raping her in an SUV on June 7. In a complaint filed at Aji Dam police station on Saturday, the woman, who is a mother of two, alleges that her husband’s friend Munna Varu raped her on the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway. In her complaint, the woman stated that on June 1, the accused called her to the Meldi Mata temple near Aji Dam Chwokdi. Varu told the woman that her husband was involved in illegal work and that she must follow his instructions to stop him. On June 7, the accused again called the woman and her son to the same temple. He asked her son to go and offer a coconut to the deity and by then he would speak to his mother. Varu took the woman in his SUV on the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway and allegedly raped her inside it. tnn
