Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs arrested for domestic violence/burglary in Tuscaloosa

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Isaiah Buggs was arrested on domestic violence and burglary charges and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Sunday, jail records show.

Buggs, 27, was being held on $5,000 bail. It is unclear whether he has been released from custody.

Buggs’ arrest came less than three weeks after he turned himself in to the same jail on animal cruelty charges. He was later released on $600 bail on two counts of second-degree animal cruelty. Buggs’ agent issued a statement at the time saying the player “vehemently denies the allegations” and that the dogs did not belong to him.

Buggs, a former Alabama player, is entering his sixth season in the NFL. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the Steelers. After two years with the Detroit Lions, Buggs joined Kansas City’s practice squad in January. The Chiefs re-signed him to a futures contract in February.

In 56 career games, Buggs has totaled 89 tackles, 12 QB hits, four tackles for loss and two sacks.

The Chiefs completed their mandatory minicamp last week.
