Shooting in downtown Columbus: 1 dead, 3 injured in nightclub

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A shooting at a downtown Columbus nightclub early Friday morning left one person dead and three others injured.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the Avalon at 2025 North 5th Street near North 4th and Spring Streets around 1:45 a.m.

A public safety dispatcher told 10TV that one person was pronounced dead in the shooting, but it was not clear whether the person died in the hospital or at the nightclub.

Two people were taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and another shooting victim was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Their condition was described as stable.

Police did not initially provide any information about what might have led to the shooting or who the suspect was.
