Comicstorian, popular YouTuber and Windsor resident killed in accident

LARIMER COUNTY, Colorado – A popular YouTuber and Windsor resident who brought comic books to life in radio plays was killed in a car crash near Fort Collins over the weekend, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman said Wednesday.

Benny Potter, better known as Comicstorian, was driving south on I-25 when his silver Toyota 4Runner veered off the right shoulder of the interstate at mile marker 267.5, according to a CSP spokesman.

According to police, his vehicle continued to cross the access road running parallel to the highway before it rolled over several times.

Potter, 40, was wearing a seatbelt but died at the scene of the accident, the spokesman said. No one was in the vehicle at the time and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to a news release.

The CSP spokesman said there is currently no evidence that impairment or excessive speed played a role in the accident.

The investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is still ongoing.

Comicstorian went online on YouTube 10 years ago. The account has over 3 million subscribers.
