3 things to watch during Buffalo Bills mini-camp

Today begins the Buffalo Bills 2024 mandatory veteran minicamp. The Bills will hold three days of practice before taking off for six weeks.

It will be the team’s last major event before the NFL dead period and will last until the start of training camp in late July.

Here are some things to watch for over the next 72 hours.

HOW DOES JOSH ALLEN GEL WITH HIS NEW RECEPTORS?

Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but he enters the season with an almost brand new wide receiver locker room. Over the next few days, it will be interesting to see how he solidifies with Chase Claypool, Curtis Samuel and the other new receivers.

WILL MATT MILANO BE PRESENT?

Milano is still recovering from a broken leg he suffered last season. He didn’t participate in any of the team’s voluntary OTAs this offseason and head coach Sean McDermott said last month that the linebacker still isn’t 100 percent. It will be interesting to see if he dons pads over the next three days or if the team shuts him down until training camp in July.

WILL PLAYERS UNDER THE RADAR STEP UP?

This could be the week we see Kaiir Elam take a step forward. Rasoul Douglas hasn’t participated in any of the Bills’ OTAs this offseason and if he skips this week, Elam could show the coaches that he deserves more time on the field. The Bills made some unusual signings this offseason with undrafted free agents and a player who has never really played football before. Will we see any of these players step up and make a name for themselves before training camp?
