Nigerian unions suspend nationwide strike for one week: statement

Nigerian unions said on Tuesday they had suspended a nationwide strike to allow further wage negotiations after air traffic was disrupted, the national power grid was shut down and public offices and schools were closed.

“Strike action has been suspended for one week to allow for the conclusion of negotiations,” one of the largest unions, the Nigeria Labour Congress, said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
