Woman hit and killed by car in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) — A woman has died in Springfield after being hit by a car.

Springfield police spokesman Ryan Walsh said officers were called to the 300 block of Wilbraham Road around 4:30 a.m. Monday morning for a report of an accident involving a pedestrian.

When they arrived, they found that a woman had succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.

Walsh noted that the driver remained at the scene of the accident.

The case remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department’s Traffic Division.
