Oxford man arrested after domestic violence in Tula – The Local Voice

On 27 May 2024, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Tula Community for reporting a domestic incident.

The MPs began to speak to the people involved in the attack and found that the main aggressor, Dakota Bowen 27 years old Oxford, Mississippihad attacked a woman. Dakota was arrested for domestic violence and simple assault.

During the attack, Bowen was found to be carrying a butcher knife. Bowen is a previously convicted felon for aggravated assault from June 2016. Bowen was subsequently charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Bowen was in the Lafayette County Detention Center without incidents.

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Bowen appeared before a Judge at the Justice Court and received bail of $15,000.00. This bail was revoked because Bowen was on probation Mississippi Department of Corrections. Bowen was taken into custody by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Bowen is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center.
