Deadly shooting in Brooklyn under investigation

BROOKLYN, NY – Early Saturday morning, police were called to the scene of a shooting at 2975 Avenue W in the 61st Precinct/PSA #1. The incident, reported at approximately 2:58 a.m., resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man.

Upon arrival, officers found Rahquill Weekes unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the lower left back. EMS transported Weekes to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Weekes lived at 215 Wortman Avenue in Brooklyn. No arrests have been made so far and the investigation is ongoing as authorities search for clues to catch the perpetrator.
