Pittsfield man arrested after investigation into his online communications with minors

PITTSFIELD, Massachusetts (WWLP) – A New York man was arrested in Pittsfield on Thursday following an investigation into his online communications with a minor.

David Stypa According to Julia Sabourin, chief of operations for the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, Stypa is said to have communicated on online platforms with a person under the age of 16. Stypa was allegedly on his way to Pittsfield when he was arrested.

Stypa was arrested and charged with:

  • Seduction to sex, child under 16
  • 2 cases of distributing obscene content to minors
  • Attempt to commit a crime

Stypa was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on Friday and the judge set bail at $100,000.
