New Jersey mayor offers Kelces new date night after viral incident

MARGATE – A date night on the New Jersey coast was rudely interrupted for Jason and Kylie Kelce when a loud woman tried to force a photo with the celebrity couple.

The viral incident prompted the Mayor of Margate to apologise on behalf of the community and offer a “replay” evening at his expense.

“As a father of young children, I know as well as anyone how important a night out with your wife is,” added Margate City Mayor Michael Collins in his statement on Facebook a few days after the Memorial Day weekend incident.

The recently retired Eagles professional and his wife often stay on the southern coast, as the Pennsylvania residents own a vacation home in Sea Isle City.

While they were out to dinner without their three young children, a possibly intoxicated bystander wanted to take a selfie with the couple, who were apparently still in their car, according to the podcast “Word to the Wise,” which shared a video on Instagram.

According to onlookers, the Kelces politely declined.

Instead of moving on, the woman – referred to online as “Karen” – became belligerent and yelled that the Kelces would not be allowed back into town.

Kylie Kelce approached the woman and told her she had embarrassed herself – adding what sounded like, “You can smell the alcohol on your breath.”

The overwhelming public reaction online to the entire incident was one of support for the Kelces and anger at such presumptuous behavior from a stranger.

Jason Kelce recently tweeted a lengthy statement, which read in part: “Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who find new ways to live together every day.”
