GloRilla sued by Atlanta investor for alleged $400,000 fraud (video)

GloRilla is facing a lawsuit from Atlanta investor Aristotle Varner Jr., who claims she defrauded him of more than $400,000 by failing to follow through on promotional commitments.

Varner Jr. revealed the lawsuit on The Morning Hustle on Friday (May 24), alleging that GloRilla, despite his growing fame, failed to honor their agreement to promote him on social media.

“She was (already) big. It’s just – you know – celebrity, arrogant, “I’m not going to fulfill the contract” bullshit. You know how it goes,” Varner Jr. said in the interview.

According to court documents obtained by Spade TV, Varner Jr. paid $150,000 to have GloRilla post a collaborative post on Instagram, arrange an in-person meeting and participate in a 30-minute interview with Asia Varner, who is also his wife. Varner Jr. claims that even though GloRilla posted the Instagram post, it failed to fulfill its other obligations.

A February 2023 TikTok video posted by Varner Jr.’s company Aristotle Investments shows GloRilla promoting an upcoming “free stock class.” The caption read: “I asked @glorillapimp to teach me dance in exchange for some stock lessons…and the rest is history! Here’s the good news! You can come and learn with her. Because she is on tour, we have to do classes virtually! Comment “learn” to attend our stock class SUNDAY February 19 at 7 p.m. I will personally send you the link to join the Zoom meeting with @glorillapimp.

In a playful social media post, GloRilla also claimed that her new music had “superpowers”, suggesting it would inspire her fans to go to the gym more. “My mixtape will literally make you fat, I saw it with my own eyes,” she tweeted, quoting a fan who said her music motivated them to do extra reps at the gym.
