Waymo vehicle crashes a week after federal crash investigation launched

A week after a federal investigation was launched into accidents involving Waymo self-driving vehicles, one of its vehicles was involved in an accident in downtown Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, an unoccupied Waymo car crashed into a telephone pole in an alley near Seventh Avenue and Roosevelt Street on Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured and the vehicle suffered minor damage and was removed from the scene.

Waymo did not respond to a request for comment.
