Northeast Nebraska teacher accused of sexually abusing students

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teacher in northeast Nebraska was arrested Monday as part of a sexual abuse investigation.

The Nebraska State Patrol said investigators received a report last week of a relationship between a teacher and a student at Madison High School.

Following an investigation, deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office took 29-year-old Nixel Ortiz into custody.

She was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse by a school employee and booked into the Madison County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing, the patrol said.
