Denver police are investigating social media threats against East High School

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Public Schools announced Monday that there will be increased security measures at East High School after threats were made on social media.

DPS sent an email to parents Sunday evening saying the Denver Police Department and the DPS Department of Safety were investigating the threats.

“For safety reasons and to address the concerns of our students and staff, we will have an additional security presence at the school and surrounding area on Monday,” DPS said in the email.

DPS added that members of the counseling and mental health team will be available to assist students and staff who may need additional support.

Denver Public Schools encouraged students to report any issues they know of to a trusted adult, Safe2Tell at 877-542-7233 or online, or DPD at 720-913-2000.
