Three dead and at least a dozen injured after shots fired at a party in southern Alabama

Three people were killed and at least a dozen injured at a party with at least 1,000 attendees in southern Alabama on Saturday night, according to multiple reports.

Capt. Andre Reid of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said a May Day celebration was taking place in Stockton Township when an altercation occurred that led to gunfire. According to the Associated Press, Reid said the victims were mostly “younger people.”

Stockton is a community of approximately 420 residents located approximately 30 miles northeast of Mobile.

Reid said no officers were involved in the shooting.

No further details were released. WALA reported that investigators may have identified a suspect, but there was no information about any arrests as of Sunday afternoon.

A call to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office went unanswered Sunday.
