Investigator Scott Parker receives the Award of Excellence

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird gave special recognition to a Lincoln Police Department investigator on Monday.

This month’s Award of Excellence recognizes investigator Scott Parker’s work in building a new website.

It helps train local hotel professionals in alcohol management, service and sales. The aim is to increase productivity and prevent losses.

Parker worked with several agencies in Lincoln and Lancaster County on the project, including the health department.

“There were several people involved in this project, and this is not an isolated incident that is being imposed on me,” Parker said.

That process took about 18 months and Parker said he had a lot of help.

“I don’t write code or anything like that,” he said. “That’s not my strength at all. They’re really the ones who ran with it and kept working on it.”
