Body found outside home near Raleigh sparks murder investigation

RALEIGH, NC — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation Monday after a woman was found dead in a wooded area.

At approximately 11:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dead person outside a home in the 3700 block of Camley Avenue in an unincorporated section of Raleigh.

On Monday, May 6, a body was found in a wooded area along Camley Avenue in an unincorporated section of Raleigh.

Officials found a woman’s body. Crime scene tape was posted in the yards of two houses opposite. The road was still closed at 6 p.m

Officials are investigating the case as a homicide after initially calling it a death investigation. The circumstances are still unclear.
