Gaza live: Thousands flee camps in central Gaza after new expulsion orders

Israel has made “fundamental changes” to the ceasefire proposal, a senior Israeli official told Channel 12.

It is doubtful that the mediators would pass on the latest version of the proposal to Hamas, the report said.

“It is very doubtful that this proposal will pass the mediators. It is doubtful that they will agree to forward the proposal to Hamas given the fundamental changes it contains,” the unnamed senior official said.

According to several media reports, Israel has put forward three new, important amendments to the proposal, including the introduction of an inspection mechanism for the return of displaced Palestinians from the south to the north of the Gaza Strip.

Israel also wants to maintain its presence along the Egypt-Gaza border and is demanding a list of living prisoners who would be released in the first phase of the agreement.
