32-year-old British bodybuilder arrested in Spain for ‘attempted murder’ after ‘attacking two US soldiers outside a restaurant’

A British bodybuilder has been arrested in Spain after being accused of “nearly killing” two US soldiers in an unprovoked attack.

The 32-year-old man – described by police as a “martial arts expert” – was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant after allegedly committing an “attempted murder” outside a restaurant last month.

The Briton was arrested after a 20-day manhunt when officers spotted him attempting to enter Alicante airport on Sunday.

If the unnamed Briton is found guilty of attempted murder, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

He has now been handed over to the Audiencia Nacional court in Madrid, where he faces extradition.

The alleged crime occurred on June 2, when the suspect approached two U.S. soldiers.

Police say he launched a “surprise and unprovoked attack” on the men, knocking them both unconscious.

A spokesman for the Spanish National Police in Alicante continued: “Given his exceptional physical condition, he managed to knock down the two soldiers without any significant effort.”

“He also showed a high level of violence.”

The man allegedly continued to beat the two soldiers as they lay defenseless on the ground.

The two soldiers were seriously injured and at times their lives were in danger.

Witnesses reportedly saw him deliver several brutal kicks to the men’s heads and other body parts.

His two friends are said to have watched the relentless attack fire for some time.

When the police were called, the bodybuilder fled the scene with the couple, police said.

“The two soldiers were seriously injured and their lives appeared to be in danger at times,” police added.

The reason for the attack is unclear.

The condition of the soldiers is currently unknown.
