Sharif’s daughter is “proud” of his decision to suspend her husband from the PML-N

Islamabad, July 30 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has defended her father’s decision to marry her husband, PML-N leader Captain (im Retirement) Mohammad Safdar to suspend from the party over allegations of forming a separate group in the party. Maryam tweeted on microblogging site Twitter that she was happy that her father preferred justice and equality over family relationships, reports The Express Tribune. She said this contradicts the idea that PML-N is a family party, adding that no one is above the law and the party stands for the rule of law, justice and fairness. “I am glad that my father chose justice and justice over family relationships. This is an unprecedented move that refutes the notion that PML-N is a family party or supports favoritism. Nobody is above the law. Justice and fairness must take precedence. PMLN stands for “rule of law,” Maryam tweeted. “I am also glad that Safdar has taken the matter positively and promised to abide by the party’s rules and regulations. Luckily, as a family, we separate politics and family matters,” she added. After threatening mass resignations of workers last week, Nawaz had issued a directive suspending the rank-and-file membership of Safdar, the main organizer of the party’s youth wing. Maryam said there was no discrimination in the party when it came to dealing with disciplinary matters. “There is no discrimination when it comes to discipline, be it Nawaz Sharif’s own daughter. I’m proud of your dad,” she tweeted. (ANI)
