Police arrest suspect in connection with fatal shooting in McAllen

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Police have identified and formally charged two people in connection with a fatal shooting at a McAllen home.

Two Donna residents are facing charges after a person was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a McAllen home on Monday.


Nathan Germain, 30, and Carmen Lizeth Valdez, 31, were arrested by McAllen police for their involvement in the fatal shooting that left 36-year-old David Martinez dead.

Germain faces charges of murder, illegal possession of a firearm and tampering with evidence.

His bail for all three charges was set at $370,000.

Valdez faces charges of murder, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana and two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

Bail for all six charges was set at $201,000.

Both suspects remain in Hidalgo County Jail.
