LMPD major transferred amid gender discrimination investigation

A veteran Louisville Metro Police Department major has been reassigned amid a gender discrimination investigation. LMPD Major David Allen has been temporarily reassigned from his position as head of the training academy, the department confirmed Tuesday. The investigation is related to a gender discrimination complaint. “Major Allen is not on leave, but has been temporarily reassigned pending the conclusion of an investigation into a gender discrimination complaint,” LMPD said in a statement to WLKY. Allen has been with LMPD for 17 years and has held a variety of roles during his tenure. He previously headed the Administrative Services Division and the Special Victims Unit.

LMPD Major David Allen has been temporarily relieved of his position as director of the training academy, the department confirmed Tuesday.

The investigations carried out are related to a complaint of gender discrimination.

“Major Allen is not on leave, but has been temporarily reassigned pending the completion of an investigation into a gender discrimination complaint,” LMPD said in a statement to WLKY.

Allen has been with LMPD for 17 years and has served in a variety of roles during his tenure, including previously heading the Administrative Services Division and the Special Victims Unit.
