15 Fury Alert Day issued today

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Today is a Fury Alert Level 15 day due to extreme heat and humidity and the possibility of severe storms.

The 15 Fury Alert Weather Team will be tracking strong storms moving in late this evening, with the potential to bring severe thunderstorms with winds up to 70 mph, large hail and torrential rain that could cause flooding.


Severe storms will develop late this evening and move through the region throughout the night.
Significant destructive wind gusts are possible during these thunderstorms.

The heat and humidity, which are rising very sharply here, will lead to severe storms tonight.

Due to the combination of heat and humidity, temperatures will drop to over 38 degrees this afternoon.
