A Farmington man was arrested after being recorded traveling nearly 159 mph (257 kph) on Route 101, state police said. New Hampshire State Police said they received a report Sunday of a group of motorcycles traveling dangerously on Route 101 eastbound in Raymond. New Hampshire State Police said they received a report Sunday of a group of motorcycles traveling dangerously on Route 101 eastbound in Raymond.

A patrol officer on the state police plane observed that the group and the front motorcycles were simultaneously overtaking other vehicles and driving between two vehicles, state police said.

The trooper measured the motorcycle’s speed at 158 ​​mph (254 km/h), and another trooper recorded a speed of 110 mph (177 km/h) as the motorcycle approached Interstate 95, state police said.

Authorities said the police officer on the scene turned on his blue lights and saw a passenger on the back seat of the motorcycle, but did not pursue him.

The state police aircraft followed the motorcycle and the patrol car on the ground again tried to stop it, but the motorcycle did not stop and began recklessly overtaking other vehicles, state police said.

Authorities said the motorcycle continued on Route 107 and then headed north on I-95, where the officer on the plane also recorded a speed of 145 mph (230 km/h) as the motorcycle weaved through traffic.

The motorcycle, driven by Zachary Dionne, 21, of Farmington, drove to a gas station and was arrested, state police said.

Dionne was charged with disobeying an officer, reckless driving, operating an unregistered vehicle, unsafe lane change, resisting arrest, reckless conduct, use of a deadly weapon and failure to display license plates.

He is being held in custody and is due to appear in court on Monday.
