British authorities arrest suspect after mysterious dismembered remains found in suitcases near bridge

The English police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the deaths of two men. Their remains were found in suitcases near a suspension bridge. However, the mystery surrounding the victims and the reason for their murder remains unsolved.

Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name, but said additional body parts from both victims were later recovered from the man’s home in west London.

Police in Avon and Somerset arrested the suspect early Saturday morning, police said in a statement.

Police received a call on Wednesday evening about a man with suitcases behaving suspiciously near the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, about 150 miles west of London, a statement said.

When the police arrived within 10 minutes, they could not find the man, but they did find the first suitcase.

A second suitcase was found moments later not far from the bridge.

The Metropolitan Police took over the investigation after more remains were found in the suspect’s flat. It was not immediately clear how they knew to look there or what connection the man had to the gruesome crime.

The police do not yet have the official identities of the victims and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

“Full investigations are ongoing, but at this time police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident,” a statement about the arrest said.
