An Atlanta mother was horrifically injured after being attacked by a group of highly venomous spiders in her backyard.

Jessica Snape, 44, is still recovering after being bitten on the face by brown recluse spiders while cleaning a shed in her home on July 1.

Rogue told AtlantaNewsFirst she was trying to clean up a messy web when she felt the spiders on her body.

Less than a day after being bitten, she was rushed to hospital with her face, arms and throat completely swollen.

Rogue, a mother of three, still has scars, rashes and an eye patch from the venomous bites and spent several days in hospital.

“My eye is what worries me the most. My eye hurts a lot. I don’t know what’s going to happen to my eye,” she told local media.

A GoFundMe to help Rogue cover his medical expenses raised $2,360.

Organizer Morgan Underwood wrote: “She will also have to call in a pest control team to deal with the spider infestation.

The swelling on Rogue’s lip is from a “non-cancerous lymphoma/tumor and a broken piece of his tooth embedded in his upper lip”
Rogue told KPTV she was trying to clean up a messy web when she felt the spiders on her body.

“The swelling on her face has gone down a lot. It’s now covered in a painful, itchy rash. Her arms, neck and chest are also covered in a painful, itchy rash, and the areas where she was bitten are covered in blisters, so we’re keeping an eye on that.”

“Her right eye is giving her some problems, she may need to see a specialist to have it checked soon.”

Underwood also clarified that the swelling on Rogue’s lip is from “lymphoma/non-cancerous tumor and a broken piece of her tooth embedded in her upper lip.”

The venom from spider bites kills tissue, causing large lesions that often require medical treatment.

“It comes from an accident she was involved in years ago, after she was hit by a truck while she was riding her bike.”

Underwood said Rogue’s insurance does not cover lymphoma removal because it considers it a cosmetic procedure.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says brown recluse spiders typically stay hidden in sheltered areas.
