A motorcyclist is killed in a nighttime accident

Burbank police are investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred around 10:10 p.m. on May 9, resulting in the death of a San Fernando man.

Police and paramedics were called to a traffic collision involving a sedan and a motorcycle near the intersection of Olive and Beachwood. Paramedics quickly arrived on scene and transported the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The motorcyclist was identified by police as 23-year-old Christopher Torres of San Fernando.

According to police, the driver of the sedan remained at the scene and was interviewed by traffic investigators investigating the accident.

Police Sgt. Steven Turner of the Burbank Police Department said in a news release: “It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision. “Preliminarily, it appears that unsafe speed is likely a factor.”

Police will attempt to review camera footage from the area of ​​the crash, which continues to be investigated by Burbank Police Department Traffic Detective Ryan Murphy. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Detective Murphy at (818) 238-3103.
