ATV rider dies after accident in Utah County

UTAH COUNTY – A man died over the weekend after being involved in an accident while driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in Utah County.

The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. It occurred on Skyline Drive in a remote area east of Indianola and west of the Scofield Reservoir.

UCSO deputies responded along with its search and rescue team, Spanish Fork first responders and a rescue helicopter.

When emergency services arrived, resuscitation was already underway and he was flown by helicopter to the local hospital with serious injuries.

Officials said the man later died at the hospital. He was identified as 53-year-old Clifford Ralph Hokanson, a Kaysville resident.

How exactly the crash occurred was not disclosed.
