Wyoming man flown to hospital by helicopter after accident on Highway 36

A Cheyenne, Wyoming, man suffered serious injuries in a crash early Sunday morning, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on July 7, 2024 at approximately 4:35 a.m., five miles east of Hamilton on Highway 36. Corporal JJ Thompson reported that Chance M. Summers, 33, was driving a 2008 Ford F250 westbound when his vehicle left the south side of the roadway. Summers overcorrected, causing the vehicle to reenter the roadway, then leave the north side and roll over. The Ford F250 came to rest on its roof facing northeast.

Summers, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital by Life Light Eagle.

The vehicle was totaled and was towed by Scotty’s Towing.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department and the Cameron Fire Department assisted in the accident.
