Town hall meeting to commemorate man killed in car crash near North Charlotte last month

CARS WERE HIT. A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO RIDE IN HONOR OF A LOCAL TRUCK DRIVER WHO WAS KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT LAST MONTH. BIKERS IN HAMPTONVILLE TODAY RIDE FOR FOUR HOURS TO REMEMBER THEIR FRIEND DARRYL BOYLAN AND TO RAISE MONEY FOR HIS GRIEVING FAMILY. OUR STAR CONNOR WAS THERE WHEN THEY LEFT THIS MORNING. HE WAS A GOOD GUY. HE HELPS ANYONE HE COULD HELP. THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR EACH OTHER AND BEING THERE FOR EACH OTHER IN DIFFICULT TIMES IS WHAT THIS COMMUNITY DOES. FOR DARRYL BOYLAN. BOYLAN WAS A YADKINVILLE NATIVE. HUSBAND AND FATHER OF THREE WAS KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE FOUR, 85 NORTH CHARLOTTE, ON JUNE 21 WHILE DRIVING A SEMI-TRAILER TO WORK. SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE DIED IN MOTORCYCLE AND NORTHERN ACCIDENTS AND WE WANT TO KEEP THE MEMORIES OF ALL OF THEM ALIVE, ESPECIALLY DARRYL. HIS DEATH LEFT HIS FAMILY WITH NOT ONLY EMOTIONAL PAIN BUT FINANCIAL CHALLENGES AS WELL. THIS RIDE IS INTENDED TO LIGHTEN SOME OF THAT BURDEN. WE JUST SHOW OUR LOVE AND CARE FOR THE FAMILY. The Yadkinville community remembers Darrell Buelin, who died in a car accident last month

A community is coming together for a bike ride in memory of a local trucker who died in a crash last month. Bikers in Hamptonville rode for four hours Saturday to remember their friend Darrell Buelin and raise money for his grieving family. “Darrell was a good guy,” said Zane Eldridge of the Twisted Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. Being there for each other in tough times is what this community does for Buelin. He was from Yadkinville. The husband and father of three was killed in a crash on Interstate 485 in north Charlotte on June 21 while driving a semi-truck for work. “Several of our family members have died in motorcycle accidents and regular accidents and we want to keep all of their memories alive, especially Darrell as well,” Chavis said. His death has left his family with not only emotional pain but financial challenges as well. This ride should ease some of that burden. “We are always there for each other,” said Brandy Chavis of the Belladonna Motorcycle Club.

Being there for one another in difficult times is what this community does for Buelin, a Yadkinville native. The husband and father of three was killed June 21 in a crash on Interstate 485 north of Charlotte while driving a semi-trailer to work.

“Several of our family members have died in motorcycle accidents and other accidents and we want to keep the memories of all of them alive, especially Darrell,” Chavis said.

His death has caused his family not only emotional pain but also financial problems. This trip was intended to ease some of that burden.

Saturday’s charity ride in Hamptonville ended with a barbecue at Buelin’s family home.

Donations made at the memorial ride on Saturday will go directly to Buelin’s family.
