1 dead and 2 injured in car crash in Central Islip

According to authorities, a man was killed and two people were injured in a car crash in Central Islip on Friday evening.

According to police, Joshua Perez-Rodriguez of Brentwood was driving north on Carleton Avenue around 10:20 p.m. when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with an SUV.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. His passenger and the driver of the SUV were also hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
