919K Rest Sound Machine 1st Generation Power Supplies Recalled – Action News Jax

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 919,400 power adapters sold with Rest 1st Generation sound machines. An additional 44,352 were sold in Canada.

According to the CPSC, the plastic casing of the power adapter can come loose when the plug is unplugged, exposing the pins and creating a risk of electric shock.

The recalled power supply has the model number CYAP05. In addition to 1.0 A, the words “Jiangsu Chenyang Electron Co. LTD” and “Made in China” are printed in black near the plug contacts of the power supply.

Rest 1st Generation Sound Machines were sold online on Hatch’s website and in brick-and-mortar stores such as BuyBuyBaby, Target, Walmart, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids and BestBuy from January 2019 through September 2022 for between $60 and $70. They were also sold on Amazon from January 2019 through May 2024 for between $60 and $200, the CPSC said.

If you have the recalled adapter, you will be asked to stop using it, unplug it from the outlet, and cut the cord. You will then need to take a photo of the destroyed adapter showing the cut cord and model number and upload the photo to the Hatch website with your name and mailing address to receive a free replacement.
