One dead after crash in Somerset County

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – A driver was killed in a crash in Stoneycreek Township on Wednesday.

On May 8, an accident occurred on South Route 31 Glades Pike at the intersection of South Route 1005 Brotherton Road. A Buick Encore, driven by William Riley, 90, of Berlin, was traveling south on Brotherton Road, ran a stop sign and attempted to make a left turn onto Glades Pike.


A Peterbilt truck then crashed into the Buick, causing it to hit an embankment and overturn. The Buick eventually came to a stop on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Riley was pronounced dead at the scene. The PSP report noted that both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
