Ohio man arrested after domestic incident

FLOYD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — An Ohio man was arrested Wednesday, July 3, two months after violating a restraining order, according to Oneida County Sheriff’s officials.

Sheriffs were able to arrest Joseph Dunn of Ohio at his place of work on a warrant around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The warrant itself was issued due to a domestic incident on Wednesday, May 8, when Dunn failed to attend his court dates. Attempts to contact him after he missed his court dates were unsuccessful.

During the domestic incident, Dunn was accused of violating a court order of protection after confronting the protected person, who was driving a motorcycle at the time. According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, Dunn then followed the victim to her home, where he damaged the vehicle and some of her property.

Joseph was arrested without incident at his workplace on Soule Road in the town of Floyd on Wednesday morning. He was then transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Building in Oriskany for processing.

Dunn is currently charged with the following:

  • criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor,
  • Reckless endangerment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor,
  • Fourth degree criminal damage, a Class A misdemeanor, and
  • Second degree harassment, a violation.

Dunn was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked. He is currently being held in the Oneida County Jail awaiting arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.
