Dover man arrested for drug and weapons offenses

DOVER, Delaware – Dover police have arrested Agmere Matthews, 32, who faces drug and weapons charges following a shooting report filed early Wednesday morning.

Officers say they were called to South New Street for reports of shots being fired just after 4 a.m. After reviewing surveillance video, they spotted a suspect in the area with a firearm. They say the suspect was Matthews, who they arrested without incident. During the incident, officers found 23 grams of crack cocaine and an undisclosed amount of money on Matthews. They later recovered a firearm after searching the area the suspect had come from before being arrested.

Matthews faces several charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held at SCI on $55,000 bail.
